Si è conclusa da pochi giorni la spedizione sul fiume Tamur, nell’est del Nepal.

Partendo da Kathmandu, abbiamo attraversato tutto il Nepal sino all’estremo oriente in aereo e in bus, proseguito a piedi per 4 giorni di trekking nel remoto range Milke Danda,  con la meravigliosa vista dei grandi 8000, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Everest per raggiungere il mitico Tamur, il grande fiume che nasce dal Kanchenjunga. Da qui, in totale autosufficienza,  abbiamo navigato le sue acque cristalline sino ad arrivare alla confluenza con il Sapta Koshi, nella pianura del Terai, poco prima che incontri la madre di tutti i fiumi himalayani in India: il Gange.

Un gruppo di persone fantastiche, dotate di grande energia, flessibili, curiose e con cui abbiamo condiviso momenti a volte spensierati, a volte impegnativi. Ma soprattutto un gruppo con cui abbiamo condiviso una delle discese più belle al mondo pagaiando le grandi rapide del Tamur e facendo un sacco  di risate intorno al fuoco la sera nei campi.

Per molti dei partecipanti era la prima esperienza, ma tutti hanno imparato in fretta la “vita sul fiume” partecipando attivamente a far funzionare l’organizzazione della spedizione, non solo pagaiando,  ma anche con lavori meno “nobili”  come montare le tende, caricare i raft, sistemando i campi e molto altro!

Una spedizione rafting in Himalaya non è solo una semplice discesa in gommone. E’ un momento di fortissima condivisione, dove la gente può e deve lasciare a casa il proprio ruolo sociale, la propria maschera, la routine quotidiana.  E’ un modo alternativo di viaggiare, in cui si raggiungono luoghi remoti, solo accessibili via Fiume.

Si vive un Nepal inedito, autentico, “off the beaten track”, in tutta la sua bellezza e spiritualità, totalmente immersi nella sua natura selvaggia.

Una volta assaporato questo modo di viaggiare, non si ritorna più indietro, quindi attenzione, perchè crea dipendenza!

Un sentito grazie allo splendido team di guide occidentali e Nepalesi che con la loro conoscenza hanno garantito la sicurezza, al team di terra che ha gestito la complicata logistica di camion, bus e voli interni, a tutti i rafters, catarafter e canoisti che hanno reso questo viaggio possibile.

Un grazie particolare a Dave Allardice, grande esploratore e guida neozelandese, oggi non più tra noi,  che 25 anni fa ci ha introdotto e fatto conoscere la maestosità dei fiumi Himalayani, insegnandoci le loro regole.

Discover the Val D’Aosta from a totally new perspective: the one of a bird. Soar in the company of our expert tandem instructors, with nothing but the sound of the wind breaking the eternal silence of the sky. Mezmerizing. If you dare, take commands and learn the basics of flying under the direct supervision of your instructor, sitting behind you.

Of course, Mother Nature has the last word when it comes to flying conditions, and we will not guarantee you the possibility to fly off Mont Blanc on any given day. The winds must be right. However, we have access to a multitude of flying sites further down the valley, thus guaranteeing the possibility to fly tandem most days, even when the weather gets capricious near Mont Blanc.

Our tandem flights last about 30 minutes and cost 120 euros, including the way up to the flying site (gondola or shuttle), and an onboard HD video of the flight.
